The Service is available to users located in the United States. All data sources — including the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Federal Reserve Economic Data, and O*NET — reflect U.S. labor market conditions.
[ATTORNEY REVIEW REQUIRED — CCPA compliance review and GDPR applicability determination]
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build behavioral profiles for marketing purposes.
3a. Email Communications
We may send you the following types of emails:
- -Magic link login emails — sent when you request a sign-in link. These are transactional and cannot be opted out of.

We do not send marketing emails or promotional communications to users who have not opted in.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.
We share your information only with the following service providers, solely to operate the Service:
- -Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure. Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database managed by Supabase. supabase.com/privacy

- -Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions and one-time purchases. Stripe collects payment information directly; we do not store payment card data. stripe.com/privacy
- -Vercel — web hosting and infrastructure. vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy

- -Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) — public government APIs used to retrieve wage and economic data. No personal information is sent to these sources.
- -O*NET Web Services (U.S. Department of Labor) — public occupational data API. No personal information is sent to this source.
All service providers are required to handle your information in accordance with applicable privacy law.

None of these service providers are authorized to use your personal data for any purpose other than providing services to Compera. Compera does not sell or share your personal data for advertising purposes.
6. Score Sharing
The Service includes an optional feature that allows you to generate a public shareable link displaying a subset of your score data (your Compera Score number, tier, and score breakdown). If you use this feature, the shared page is publicly accessible by anyone with the link. We recommend against sharing your score link if you do not want others to see this information. Shared score data does not include your name, email address, or compensation figures.
7. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase with row-level security (RLS) enabled. This means your data is only accessible by you when authenticated.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You have the following rights with respect to your personal information:
- -Access — you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- -Correction — you may update your information by using the Service or contacting us
- -Deletion — you may request that we delete your account and all associated data. 9. Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies solely for authentication session management (provided by Supabase Auth). We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.
For users without an account, we use browser local storage to retain score history on your device. This data remains on your device and is not sent to our servers.
You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so will prevent account sign-in from functioning.
10. Data Retention
If you have an account, we retain your data until you request deletion. If you use the Service without an account, no personally identifiable information is stored on our servers beyond standard server logs (retained by Vercel per their policies). Browser local storage data is retained until you clear your browser data or request account deletion.
