Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 11, 2026 Last Updated: March 11, 2026

1. Introduction

Compera ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Compera Labor Intelligence platform at compera.io (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

When you use the Service, you may provide:

  • Occupation — your job title or role
  • Salary or compensation — your current annual or hourly compensation
  • Location — your city, state, or metro area
  • Industry — your employer's industry or sector
  • Certifications — professional certifications or licenses you hold
  • Last raise date — the date of your most recent compensation change
  • Email address — if you create an account or request a magic login link

None of the above are required unless you choose to create an account. Score calculations can be performed without an account.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Service, we automatically collect:

  • Session and authentication cookies (via Supabase Auth)
  • Basic server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited), retained by our hosting provider Vercel

We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Compute your Compera Score and generate personalized labor market analysis
  • Send you a magic login link when you request one
  • Store your score history across sessions if you have an account
  • Improve the accuracy and quality of the Service
  • Respond to support requests or questions

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build behavioral profiles for marketing purposes.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

We share your information only with the following service providers, solely to operate the Service:

  • Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure. Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database managed by Supabase. [supabase.com/privacy](https://supabase.com/privacy)
  • Groq — AI infrastructure used to generate narrative explanations of your score. Input data (occupation, score factors) is sent to Groq's API. [groq.com/privacy](https://groq.com/privacy)
  • Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions and one-time purchases. Stripe collects payment information directly; we do not store payment card data. [stripe.com/privacy](https://stripe.com/privacy)
  • Vercel — web hosting and infrastructure. [vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy](https://vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy)
  • Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) — public government APIs used to retrieve wage and economic data. No personal information is sent to these sources.

All service providers are required to handle your information in accordance with applicable privacy law.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase with row-level security (RLS) enabled. This means your data is only accessible by you when authenticated.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

  • Access — you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — you may update your information by using the Service or contacting us
  • Deletion — you may request that we delete your account and all associated data by emailing us at the address below. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
  • Account-free use — you may use the score calculator without creating an account. Score data entered without an account is not stored on our servers.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at: privacy@compera.io

7. Cookies and Session Data

We use cookies solely for authentication session management (provided by Supabase Auth). We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.

You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so will prevent account sign-in from functioning.

8. Data Retention

If you have an account, we retain your data until you request deletion. If you use the Service without an account, no personally identifiable information is stored on our servers beyond standard server logs (retained by Vercel per their policies).

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
